We recommended checking the Spam folder you created periodically to retrieve legitimate emails that have been mistakenly filtered based on the rules you have applied.

Eudora's Junk Filter

The pay version Eudora has a built-in Junk Filter that will learn the type of email you consider Junk and automatically filter it. You only need to tell Eudora what you consider Junk and what you consider Not Junk.

6. Tell Eudora an Email is Junk

  • With the email open click once on the Message menu.
  • Mouseover the Junk option and click once to alert Eudora you consider the email junk.
Filter Step 6

Sometimes, particularly when you first start using the Junk Filter, Eudora will mistakenly send legitimate email to the Junk folder. You will need to let Eudora know you do not consider this email Junk. You will need to periodically check the contents of the Junk folder to find these emails.

6. Tell Eudora an Email is Not Junk

  • With the email open click once on the Message menu.
  • Mouseover the Not Junk option and click once to alert Eudora you do not consider the email junk.
Filter Step 7

You will find several other features useful in controlling how Eudora determines what is and isn't Junk Mail. These can be found in the Options window.

7. Open the Options Window

  • Click once on the Tools menu.
  • Mouseover Options and click once to open the Options window.
Filter Step 8

8. Options Window: Junk Mail

  • Click once on the Junk Mail icon in the categories pane to the left to display the Junk Mail window
  • You can set these options to suit your needs, though using the items checked in the image below is a good start.
  • Moving the Junk Threshold to a lower number will filter more junk mail, but will also mistakenly move more legitimate mail to the Junk folder.
  • Moving the Junk Threshold to a higher number will filter less junk mail, but will be less likely to mistakenly move more legitimate mail to the Junk folder.
  • You will need to experiment with the Junk Threshold to determine a number that is best for filtering your email.
Filter Step 9

9. Options Window: Junk Mail Extras

  • Click once on the Junk Mail Extras icon in the categories pane to the left to display the Junk Mail window
  • The image below shows the default settings for the Junk Mail Extras.
